    • The coolest toy

      Playmobil

      01 December 2004

As a kid, it was the coolest toy. So many hours of fun, creativity, great stories, adventures, and much more. Inside, outside, with friends or family.

    • A great link with my family and friends

      Blogger

      26 March 2007

I started my blog in 2003 and since then, I have not found a more convenient, yet good-looking, tool to post my stories. I’m a nomad and Blogger is always there when I need to share a "post" - on my laptop at home in Paris, London or Sydney as well as in the most remote web bar in Arizona, Mexico or Bangkok. So, it’s a great link with my family and friends who can read what I’m up to. Besides, as a fanatic reader of blogs, I appreciate the whole user-generated content trend that Blogger contributed to start and is still fueling.

    • Made iconic by MTV and VH1

      Jet

      07 May 2007

Jet is this ’in your face’ rock band from Melbourne. I loved their first album and I realised their 2nd album was not too bad either when I got to see them live a couple of months ago in London (Brixton). Even if you don’t know the band, I’m sure you heard their music as pretty much all the riffs from their first album were made iconic by MTV and VH1 which used them to dub so many of their shows (like Pimp my Ride)... that in the end it almost got boring. ’TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!’ - JET

    • He offered hope

      Nicolas Sarkozy

      07 May 2007

Love him or hate him, France has a new president: Nicolas Sarkozy. I’m not afraid to say he casted my vote. From all candidates, he was the only one that offered hope that what needs to happen will happen. And nobody as of today can deny that France can do with a bit of reform. More importantly (and amusingly), I think it’d be interesting to see how M. Sarkozy will fare as the trademark over his 5 year mandate.

    • Can't wait 'till I've tried them all!

      5 Boroughs Ice Cream

      20 November 2007

I love eating landfill. You don't get to say that often. But with 5 Boroughs, you got to say that all the time because their "Staten Island Landfill" ice cream (vanilla, chocolate fudge, brownie and cherry) is just so good. Very smart branding with every flavor matching (deliciously) one of NYC's colorful neighborhood (Upper East Side Rich White Vanilla!!! Soho Cappucino). Can't wait 'till I've tried them all!

    • Ultimate chic and practical

      Maclaren

      02 July 2008

Maclarens are the quintessential strollers: ultimate chic and practical. They definitely have flair with their stylish colors, especially compared to your average object in the baby category. And their design is not only beautiful but functional: lightweight, agile, rock-solid. I can remember as a child my mother walking me along in a light blue and white striped Maclaren. I must have been everywhere in Paris in this - as later on did my sister. And now, almost 30 years later, I'm so proud to be striding all along Manhattan with my baby girl comfortably seated in our black and red stroller. My wife and I are almost fighting to be the one pushing her. Maclaren is probably the first brand (Lovemark!) which I have been exposed to and which I can remember. And now, I feel it's like a club - I'm not the only parent checking other strollers and giving or receiving an approving nod when noticing a fellow Maclaren pusher. They even have fashion designer models. I couldn't see the point in spending more for one of those, but if Paul Smith were to produce one with his famous stripes, I'd go for it for the next baby!

    • Influential and talented

      Slash

      01 October 2009

Listening to Guns n' Roses albums from the late 80's and early 90's brings back fond memories of my teenage years - especially Slash's amazing guitar riffs and solos which while hardcore rock always have a very melodic and emotionally charged dimension. I am not sure Slash always get the credit he deserves for being one of the most influential and talented guitarists of the last 25 years, if not the most. He also brought the Gibson Les Paul back into spotlight when it was pretty much ignored and is one of those players who made that guitar iconic, alongside Jimmy Page. And for that you gotta love him. Down the line, he is a badass rocker and with his tumultuous drug and alcohol infused past behind him, he really comes through as a very decent guy (just folow his tweets and read his autobigraphy).
