Until quite recently I lived just outside of NYC... one of the things that helped me in September 2001 was thinking "What would Gandhi do?"... maybe an oversimplification, but thinking that, and wearing my peace dove, really helped me get through those dark days. Many years after his death, and very far away, he remains a symbol of what can be for those who listen.
This one just took me back thirty years! My then husband and I used to dine occasionally at a local pub. They had Häagen-Dazs on the menu. Back then no one had ever heard of it! It was served in sundae glasses which were usually
still warm from the dishwasher so the ice cream was JUST starting to melt.
That's the ideal temperature, but one most of us don't have the patience for. We searched all over for the stuff, but it wasn't in the local stores yet. We finally tracked it down by contacting the company (and that was before the days of the Internet). Thanks for bringing back a fond memory! I think I need to go buy some now though...
