      Two Western Australia guys created this phenomenal Australian company. Their hand-poured candles are all Australian made and walking into a dusk store is like being greeted by passionate, enthusiastic friends in my dream lounge room. The romantic ideal of a candle-lit dinner is back, with scents that make any suburban home feel like a five-star resort. America, you should be jealous.

      In the growing world of health-conscious consumption, it's great to see that one brand is still doing it with humour and energy. The kids at Nudie Juice know how to do this market properly. When their factory burnt down in May 2004, they released a special “fire-fighter nudie” and offered free juices to all fire-fighters who came to their headquarters in Sydney. The product is all fruit, and the packaging is so subtle and clever. My hat goes off to all those in the Nudie marketing department and HQ for an awesome juice – you just know that all their employees are happy people and their customers are, too.

Through him, we learnt to count, navigate the Labyrinth and find the Rainbow Connection. In Australia, biscuits have become cookies and X and Y is now followed by zee.
