Actually seem to care
Boots The Chemists
24 September 2004
In England when you're sick - do you go to the doctor?! NOOO! You go to Boots...because there's something about the staff in their pristine, white uniforms that makes you feel like they know what they're talking about...and actually seem to care. Sure, there are other similar shops which are cheaper...but they're just not Boots.
In any self respecting German's pocket
Tempo
26 January 2005
Take a look in any self respecting German's pocket and you'll find a packet of Tempos. Infact in Germany when need to blow their nose they'll ask for a Tempo rather than a tissue. To me Tempo is a true German Lovemark.
Ask for my UHU
UHU
26 January 2005
I've been using UHU glue since I was a child and I'm still using it today. I've been using it my whole life and it has become essential stationary. When people in Germany ask to borrow my glue, they don't ask for glue they ask for my UHU.
I've never turned back
Miracoli
31 January 2005
I first experienced Mirácoli when I was babysitting. And since then I've never turned back. True - Mirácoli is not a fancy Italian pasta delicacy... but it's the most fantastic, simple, comfort food I know of.
The first thing I did was take out my Becks...
Beck's
09 July 2005
I recently moved flats. Without thinking, when I arrived with a car full of boxes, the first thing I did was take out my crate of Becks... unlock the door and put it in the fridge!
2 things I love about M·A·C
MAC Cosmetics
13 February 2007
2 things I love about M·A·C.- The new "Barbie Loves M·A·C" collection! It shows that Barbie (and women) have moved on from traditional male-orientated feminine ideals >> it’s okay to be a modern women and still be feminine. (I know I’m too old to play with dolls but I really want one!) - "M·A·C VIVA GLAM" - sends EVERY PENNY to an AIDS Fund to support people living with HIV/AIDS.
The essence of femininity and sexiness
Jean Paul Gaultier
13 February 2007
I’ve worn (and loved) Classique ever since I unwrapped the curvaceous bottle on my 17th birthday. It’s the essence of femininity and sexiness. I never leave the house without wearing it – it makes me feel more confident and attractive. I’ve lost count of the amount of times people (mainly men) have told me how good I smell.
It always has just the right song
iPod
13 February 2007
My "leaving the house" check list has gotten longer: Keys? Wallet? Phone? iPod?! I LOVE my iPod - it goes everywhere with me! It always has just the right song, no matter what mood I’m in. I don’t know what I’d do if it got stolen. The thought horrifies me.
A wonderful place in summer and in winter
Germany
13 February 2007
Germany is a wonderful place in summer and in winter. It has the perfect combination of hot summers (beer gardens, outdoor pools, BBQs, balconies, outdoor bars) mixed with crisp winters (snow, skiing, Christmas markets). Christmas just doesn’t feel like Christmas unless I’ve been to the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) and had a nice, hot Glühwein (mulled wine).
Stylish, great quality and reasuringly expensive
French Connection (FCUK)
13 February 2007
Who else could get away with "too busy to FCUK" t-shirts? Their range is stylish, great quality and reasuringly expensive. It’s in a class of its own – a standard above all the other high street stores yet below all the overpriced designers. No matter what the occasion (work, casual, ball or wedding), I always know that FCUK has something special that I’ll really love (plus many unplanned purchases).
The pride of NZ
All Blacks
13 February 2007
I get goose bumps every time I see them do the haka. The power, strength and intensity of the All Blacks haka is matched only by their performance in the game. The ABs are the pride of NZ and an inspiration for all NZ kids.
The fun behind every great night out
Jagermeister
13 February 2007
It doesn’t score points for being the best tasting shot (it has a sweet, medicine-like flavour) but it’s the fun behind every great night out! It’s become the only shot we drink when we go out because its fun to drink with friends. We call our nights “Jägermeister Express” or JE – because once you’re on; you can’t get off (it invariably it ends in a train wreck)! In fact Jägermeister is responsible for me meeting my current boyfriend!
I wouldn't be seen dead wearing them
Crocs
23 April 2007
Oh nooooooo, I can’t stand Crocs! Despite arguments that they might be comfortable - I think they look totally hideous. I wouldn’t be seen dead wearing them.
