    • Serendipity and chance

      BookCrossing

      25 August 2004

I love the concept of serendipity, the possibility of chance and the joy of spontaneity. Bookcrossing is all this and so much more, plus you get to share your beloved books!! It is so exciting to find a book or even better, to read a journal on a book that you released and someone found!! I love it. Everyone will too.

    • Ultimate and incomparable

      Jesus Christ

      25 August 2004

Interesting Lovemark...On one hand, I hope Jesus isn't being considered a brand here because he is not something to be bought or sold. (What a thought!) But if He has been nominated because people feel passionately about Him and can't do without Him, well that is awesome and He is definitely a Lovemark for me. Ultimate and incomparable.

    • I use it for everything

      Lucas Papaw Ointment

      14 September 2004

It's an oddity among balms... made in Brisbane Australia, awesome as lip balm, cracked skin, burns, nappy rash - the list goes on. Not advertised anywhere, it was recommended to me by a friend. It comes in little red tubes or big red tubs where you can scoop it out and put it in little pots. If you're still wondering, it's a 'local topical application balm' and it's got papaya (or papaw as we say in Australia) in it. It's sold in chemists and in the healthfood section of Woolies. I LOVE it, I use it for EVERYTHING and I love that I can support a local business and have yummy smooth lips. Don't be fooled by the basic website - Google it too and see how many people from around the world import it!

    • Good deeds on Friday

      Join Me

      17 September 2004

It's not a cult, it's a collective. Join Me - started by Danny Wallace in England, he was bored and just placed an ad in a paper saying, Join Me, send one passport photo to (this) address. Two years later he has thousands of joinees the world over who perform good deeds on Friday. Crazy, fun and frivolous. Join the phenomenon.

    • A quick escape from reality

      Archie Comics

      10 June 2005

I love Archie Comics so much. My mum first introduced me to them when I was a young teenager and we would love rummaging around in second-hand books stores for old copies that we bought for 50c each. My favourite character is Betty because she is smart, hardworking, good at a range of things, completely ditzy when it comes to boys and love, and especially Archie! The comics are always good for a laugh and a quick escape from reality.

    • No matter where I go in life...

      Australia

      10 June 2005

I was born in Darwin, raised on the Gold Coast, my 'rellies and friends are in Hobart, Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne. I've been lucky enough to do a little travel around this great nation but also overseas across Europe. Coming home from Europe and Asia - the sheer size, cleanliness and beauty of Australia is overwhelming. And each state, in fact, each region is so different that we could have around 10 different countries with our island continent. No matter where I go in life, I'll always call Australia home.

    • It's easier to enjoy a lamington than make one

      Lamingtons

      10 June 2005

I've always enjoyed a good 'Lammy'. I even tried to make a batch for Canadian friends when I was in Abbotsford, BC but I quickly learnt it is easier to enjoy a lamington than to make one!
