    • No matter where I go

      Haagen-Dazs

      22 October 2003

Haagen-Dazs Icecream is a brand of quality and taste that I can trust on my tongue(and in my stomach!) no matter where I go in the world!

    • My walk on this planet

      Teva

      19 December 2003

Teva sandals blend robust, lightweight materials and great design to create sandals that walk you all over the world in style and comfort. I have walked with my Teva sandals on the dusty streets of Delhi, busy New York, cobbled Rhodes and the hills of Jerusalem. Always confident that they will faithfully support my walk on this planet. Too bad Mahatma Gandhi, the ultimate walker, didn't have access to these sandals!

    • Ever-changing in its moods

      Taj Mahal

      23 December 2003

The Taj Mahal is literally a Lovemark as it comemorates the love of Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz and embodies the mystery of this moonlike love which is ever-changing in its moods. I recommend visiting the Taj for a full relaxed week to absorb the variegated flavor of the white marble temple, day and night.

    • Beacon of hope for humanity to aspire to

      Star Trek

      30 January 2004

Even from the first pilot episode, Star Trek has provided a template beacon of hope for humanity to aspire to. The series raises thought-provoking questions while simultaneously catering to the needs of our emotions. It highlights the uniquely HUMAN response in face of the unknown and the alien. My favourite episode is Capt. Picard's "The Inner Light"!

    • Many happy hours

      Nintendo

      30 January 2004

I have a red Flame Gameboy SP with Wing Commander Prophecy and spend many happy hours in my palmtop space universe. No more frustation on computers that crash and inane bootup time before I start to play a game-just open, click and go!

    • A metaphor for Life

      Eiffel Tower

      08 April 2004

This towering dream of Iron has turned into a landmark of love for many romantic couples! Standing under and looking up at the Tower on a busy day it hums with activity and turns into a metaphor for Life with it's ups and downs and moments of calm inbetween. Nothing better than floating by the nightlit tower on the Seine, sipping wine with your loved one by your side.

    • A pure reminder

      Bernard Callebaut Chocolates

      31 May 2004

When you get a block of Callebaut Chocolate, it is the real deal: chunks of chocolate that you cut with a slightly warmed knife and pop into your mouth for a pure reminder of the taste of joy. Make a hot callebaut choco to drink together with your loved one and be assured of an unforgettable memory that will inspire for a lifetime!

    • Too bad there isn't an 'earthcam'

      Apollo missions

      03 June 2004

This shining triumph of mankind's voyage to the moon will always remain a true reminder of our capacity to work for the good of all humanity and the blue planet. It may be that the most significant discovery of the voyages to the moon was the view of the fragile planet with the thin layer of atmosphere that is Earth in space. Too bad there isn't an 'earthcam' on the moon to provide us with continual reminders of how beautiful and precious Earth is. But we have the Apollo missions to thank for expanding our consciousness beyond the limits of the ground horizon to the infinite vistas of the universe. Mars is next!

    • Tasty indian snack

      Lijjat Papad

      28 June 2004

This tasty indian snack has been a constant meal companion since my Mumbai childhood. But even more remarkable is the fact that these delicious morsels are produced and marketed solely by a women's cooperative of India's urban poor.

    • Fabled oranges

Once served only on the tables of royalty, this fabled orange is now within the reach of everyone to enjoy-juice,pulp and skin. Nothing beats seeing fresh Jaffa oranges stacked in pyramids in the colorful Jerusalem shuk, except eating them!

    • A silent conscience of India

      Laxman's 'Common Man'

      21 July 2004

Appearing in the 'Times of India' for decades, this cartoon commentary portrays the ills of India through the eyes of a silent sufferer of injustice, the proverbial 'common man' comes alive. R K Laxman's 'Common Man' is the silent conscience of India and strikes through the verbiage of politics to expose the stupidity and corruption of those in positions of power.

    • Memento ..

      Six Feet Under

      07 October 2004

In a world of eternally packaged youth, Six Feet Under tackles the touchy subject of Death head on. Every episode begins with a random death and revives the ancient tradition of 'memento mori' when we witness the death of someone who can be me. The characters live in Death(a funeral home) but reach out towards Life in a 'memento vita'. This remarkable TV series vicariously teaches us that Death and Life are both friends in shaping our lives with ultimate meaning!

    • A sea of life

      Dead Sea

      19 October 2004

The lowest place on earth is also a sea of life - for human health. The concentrated salt water gently supports your whole body and cups you in its liquid embrace floating between the earth and the stars. The black mud that you slap onto your body rejuvenates your skin and sense of fun. The hot sulfur pools heal all the travails of hectic modern living and put you back in touch with your life's heartbeat.
