      Amazon.com

      17 September 2009

The simplicity of shopping combined with the excitement of receiving your own personal gift. Amazon.com is my Lovemark. Rarely do I shop for an item that I know nothing about. Seldom do I seek out a worker to tell me what I want to buy. Not only does Amazon.com allow me to read the stories of first-hand experiences of consumers, but also for more information, I can open a new tab in my browser and enter in a Google search. And it may sound lazy, but I do not have to travel to a store just to purchase one item. Still looking to shop? Just add it to your cart. Looking for a completely different and unrelated item? Search it on Amazon. With such a wide variety of items from either Amazon or other suppliers, I can build up and review all my specific purchases on one website. The best part is with purchasing, it doesn’t feel like I’m submitting my debit card info to a shady dealer who may or may not keep my information safe. So online shopping is convenient, so what? Amazon.com also offers cheaper prices than buying from many other big retailers. Feel like saving a little bit more? There’s usually quite a bit of “used” items as well. And again, whether new, used, from Amazon, or a different supplier/company/person, it’s all in one check out cart. There’s no initiating email to the winning bidder and email tag on when something gets billed or shipped. Also, if you’re not in a hurry to receive something, you can search for Amazon’s eligible “Free Super Saver Shipping.” Rarely do I pay an extra $20 to ship something a day faster, and saving $10 on shipping is just a perk for me. To be blunt and horribly vague, if you love online shopping, there’s no reason to not love Amazon.com. It is the Mecca of Internet shopping, a utopia of purchasing. No longer does workers, shoppers, traffic, or any other nuisance that is associated with a “real” store interrupt you with your precious shopping. You are the shopper and you check yourself out. Instant gratification doesn’t technically exist, as you have to factor in shipping time. But you cannot beat watching a UPS truck drive up to your house or apartment, your new gift has arrived. From: You; To: You. You know what you want, and so does Amazon. So sign in and let Amazon greet you with its recommendations.
