    • Even in my dreams I have no reprieve

      Qdoba Mexican Grill

      15 May 2004

It's the fire, the tang, the made-fresh-today, full-blown flavour of the Mighty "Q" that haunts my waking hours. Even in my dreams I have no reprieve from the cilantro-infused Salsa Verde upon which my addiction has become irreversible. Burger King may say "Have it your way" but if I wanted 7 (not 3) pickles, I'd have laughing teenagers rolling dangerously about under the deep-fryer. Simply stated, Qdoba is a healthy variety of delectable, Mexican cuisine made quickly to my exact specifications... and for that, I love them.

    • It's that good.

      Tabasco Sauce

      27 May 2004

Tabasco makes poor food palatable, average food superior and great food sublime. In my kitchen, it's essential. Skyline Chili should buy stock in the stuff. Yeah, it's that good.

    • No better way to spend five grand

      Hot Spring Spas

      17 June 2004

After an especially grueling two-day camping trip, we were returning home and I had only one thought on my mind. How many more miles before I could slide my aching body into the intoxicating bubbles of my Hot Spring spa? There is no better way to spend five grand. If forced to choose between my Hot Spring spa and my car, neighbors would see me riding my bike to work.

    • Breaking into uncharted territories

      id Software

      26 October 2004

Nobody has done more for the world of immersive video games than id software. First there was Wolfenstein, then Doom, and then Quake. Each breaking into uncharted territories while millions of addicted gamers marked off the days to the next mind-blowing experience. They say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." I'd say the gaming industry might have a crush on id.

    • The Big Blue Nation

      Kentucky Wildcats Basketball

      27 October 2004

In all of college basketball, one program stands on top... the Kentucky Wildcats. Each time the all-time winningest team takes the court, the Big Blue Nation I belong to - tens of thousands strong from coast to coast - supports them. From Midnight Madness to the season opener; from the SEC to March Madness; Kentucky fans follow their beloved team every step of the way. No one loves their basketball like Kentucky fans, no one.

    • No other place on earth

      Aspen Snowmass

      07 March 2006

For me, this is where it all began - my obsession with skiing. There may be other more famous resorts (Vail, Tahoe, etc.) and there may be larger facilities (Canyons, Mammoth, etc.) but no other place on earth can bring to life those original love affair memories like Snowmass.
