    • Cool man

      Steve McQueen

      31 December 2007

Any piece of atrezzo around him reinforces his coolness: a flight leather jacket, a car, even the musical play during the chase in San Francisco - Bullit. So, any time I listen to the music created by Lalo Schiffrin the image of Steve driving the streets of Pacific Heights - I guess - comes, as a smile comes to my face too. Cool man.

    • Nothing like Corona

      Corona

      31 December 2007

Nothing like Corona. It was August 2002, we were on holidays and decided to drive the sunny California, south from LA, San Diego, then Las Vegas. We stopped at Palm Springs and closed the car, leaving the keys inside. It was hot, terribly hot. We spent 6 hours there waiting for car assistance. We sat at a terrace, ordered some drinks, a Corona for me. At the speed of light I emptied the bottle, and the clerk came back asking me for a second one. I thanked him replying that I should drive in a short period of time and do not want complaints with a patrolman. The clerk joked: "Se maneja mejor con dos Coronas" (you will drive better with two Coronas).

    • Never out of style

      Sebago

      31 December 2007

Sebago shoes, I love them! In all the available colors, brown, black, .. I can't imagine myself not wearing a pair of Sebagos. Perfect with a suit, a Levi's 501, chinos...comfortable, elegant, never out of style since my teens. And now, my son will wear Sebagos.

    • It's a Submariner, what else?

      Rolex

      31 December 2007

The first contact with the brand was very early because my parents both wear a Rolex. But the definitive hit was when I saw Sean Connery playing James Bond role, waering a Submariner. I said to myself that one day I will own that watch. My wife gave it to me when we promised. True, it does not work perfectly, it is not as accurate as a Swiss watch is supposed to be but, anyway, who cares? It's a Submariner, what else?

    • A matter of style

      Alain Mikli

      03 January 2008

Mikli glasses, I love it. It was 1994, I was working for a French company and one of my mates was wearing a pair of incredible glasses, something which seems to come from ten years in the future. Wow! I asked for them, "C'est Mikli". People in the street look at you and you know that they are targeting your glasses, a class on its own. It's a matter of...style, you got it or you don't. Since 1998, I only wear Mikli. Right now I own three pairs. And plan to increase.

    • Something I can't control

      Hogan

      03 January 2008

I really like shoes. No, I'm lying, I LOVE shoes. It is something I can't control. I do not have space in my shelves to store them. When I got married, I arrived home with lots of shoes, something incredible for a guy...So, you know about my love for shoes, then you will perfectly understand my love for Hogan shoes. Even casual, you can wear them with a suit, in a very Italian style, or in the summer, with shorts and a polo shirt (and a pair of Persol or Rayban of course). After wearing a pair of Hogan shoes, the rest seems so uncomfortable...

    • Ahhhhhhhhhhh San Pellegrino

      San Pellegrino

      15 September 2008

Ahhhhhhhhhhh San Pellegrino. In France, just "Sanpé", enough. It is very funny because in Spain, SP is not sold in the households market, throught the retail, but it is only available for restaurants and so on. That forces me to supply from my wine store, which means I pay an extra price to its premium price. And it is funny because last August I was in holidays in France, and SP is available in a one liter six pack, at a reasonable price. Anyway, unluckily, it seems that the high price will remain in Spain for years.

    • Food for soul, body, brain and heart

      Monocle

      02 October 2008

Did discover Monocle through Monocle's editor-in-chief Tyler Brule. He has a weekly column in the Financial Times Weekend edition, called Fast Lane. After several lectures, jumped into his chef d'oeuvre, Monocle, something not to be missed. Something? Wander the printed magazine and online edition, you will jump into a 360º reality, from business to fashion, lifestyle, travel and politics. It is neither mass market nor exclusive and elitist; food for soul, body, brain and heart.

    • Warm, elegant, stylish, perfect

      Avirex

      02 October 2008

In 1987, spent my monthly income in a flight leather jacket, the coolest and apologizes por the Perfecto fans. You know, the classical WW II U.S. battle aircraft jacket, in brown colour outside and orange inside. Warm, elegant, stylish, perfect with Chinos and 501 jeans. It was my must for the winter. In 1990, I suffered an assault at an ATM machine and after being wounded with a knife, my jacket flew away. But, listen to me, in 2006, wandering in a mall, my eyes hit something familiar: yes, the G1 flying jacket. I ran into the store and started explaining my history, and the shop assistant, after having listened carefully to me, replied "You are not the first to come back looking for his youth jacket."

    • Simple 5 - 0 - 1

      Levi's jeans

      02 October 2008

Simple, 5 - 0 - 1, no need to mention the brand, a class of its own. Worn them for more than 25 years, puchased in white, vanilla, black....the perfect fit although the most important thing is the messages that are sent, from flower power summer of love in '67 to the hey-ho-lets-go bunch in the 80's. Something new to expect from them in the XXI century? Reinforcing the legend of a vintage icon.

    • My preferred band

      The Clash

      02 October 2008

I was introduced to The Clash in the summer of 1979. Some friends of mine went to London to learn English, one does not want to know what they did in reality. One of them brought with him a copy of London Calling, the record, and we spent the evenings listening to it. I was 12 and I was shocked. It was the most attractive collection of songs and styles, from rockabilly Brand New Cadillac to Wrong 'em Boyo ska. Once on sale in Spain, I received it as a gift for Christmas in December. My old record copy is used but still in enough good shape. Never saw them in concert, but saw Mick Jones' Big Audio Dinamyte in 1990, and The Clash is, as teenagers say, my preferred band. And no one else will take the place.
