  At 39 and a mum of 2, I walk past the Playstation skate park on my way to Portobello market. I’ve never been a skateboarder. I was too little in the 70’s to do anything but sit on one and roll down the middle of the road I lived on. Then I was too girly...then I was too past it! But the love connection’s alive and well. Something inside keeps telling me "you’re not a teenager anymore". But I did it anyway. Bought my first pair of Vans. It took me a couple of go’s but I finally plucked up the courage to buy my first pair a month ago. Size 5 1/2 White Prison Issue’s White. Surrounded by younger folk in the Carnaby street store I think I looked young’ish enough to pull it off. So I did it, I got them, I’m happy.
