A portal for our future creativity
Tate Modern
27 June 2007
The Southbank is a wonderful arena for London’s creativity. For many years I have walked along the Thames, from Dali Universe, to The Royal Festival Hall, The Hayward Gallery, the Book market under the bridge near the Film Centre, past the Oxo Tower and its plentiful creative outlets, up to the Tate and the Design Museum. The Tate Modern is a wonderful brand and portal for our future creativity.
I love this Lovemark
OQO
27 June 2007
OQO is a Lovemark that ever continues to inspire me. It is its simplicity and stylish design that captures my attention every time I see it. From the logo, the name to the bar itself I love this Lovemark.
A gem that everyone should experience
The Hayward
27 June 2007
The Hayward Gallery is definately a Lovemark of mine. I cannot possible attempt to count the time I have spent in the gallery, walking around the exhibitions, admiring the area around it, and the work that goes on within it. A beautiful place where I can truly find an escape from daily life and enter a world full of new talent and contemporary expression; a gem that everyone should experience.
It continues to inspire me
Massive Change
27 June 2007
Massive Change will forever be a Lovemark of mine. It "explores the legacy and potential, the promise and power of design in improving the welfare of humanity." It continues to inspire me, continues to give me that get up and go, and will always remain at the core of my belief that we are in for a better future, thanks to the power of the designer's mindset.
A true inspiration
Philippe Starck
27 June 2007
Starck is a true inspiration: "98% of people’s lives are grey. Marketing tells us we are consumers, Television tells us we are observers. That we are nothing and no-one. Surrealism is a wake up machine, that you do exist, everyone of you, and I am just an Alarm Clock. Surrealism is poetry for modern day consumerism.” (Philippe Starck) Quotation from "Imagine... It’s the Surreal Thing" on BBC1. May 28th 2007
A true example of imagination
Salvador Dali
27 June 2007
A controversial surrealist, that remains a ghost I admire. A true example of imagination and individual creativity.
Forever be remembered and admired
Sir Ken Robinson
27 June 2007
Simply an wonderful inspiration that defines the need for creativity in education. A great public speaker whom I enjoy listening to at every opportunity. Ken’s humour and zest for creativity in education will forever be remembered and admired.
Changed my perspective of the world
Richard Buckminster Fuller
27 June 2007
Driven by the idea of "more for less", Fuller is a Lovemark that truly has changed my perspective of the world we live in, since the tender age of 16. His philosophies and imagination for a future we still have not reached yet, should be reason alone for him to inspire all of us into a more sustainable future.
