    • I spend hours reading

      Sports Illustrated

      23 February 2007

I can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail every week, filled with all the news from the sports world and the most amazing pictures. It’s the greatest magazine around. I spend hours reading all the stories from the sports world. Of course, the best issue is the Swimsuit Issue the comes out evey February.

    • When I shop it's Target

      Target

      23 February 2007

I first saw Target in this odd Frank Whalley movie, with Jennifer Connelly. It was an offbeat flick but they made Target seem like a neat place. And The BULLSEYE LOGO, wow. Their ads are awesome. Target is just the coolest place, the prices, the products, it’s way better than Walmart. I’ve worked in retail all my life, but when I shop it’s Target.

    • They are the bomb!

      Converse

      24 February 2007

Last year when our company changed uniform shirts to red, I knew exactly what shoes I had to get to go with them. Converse Allstars in red, but I couldn’t find them right away. I finally found them on my company’s website and they are the bomb! Everyone thinks they are funky! I love my Allstars Oxfords.

    • An iconic coast to coast retail chain

      JC Penney

      24 February 2007

I’ve worked in retail for over 20 years and for all but 7 of them the stores have been places that were started over 100 years ago. JCPenney is just about the last remaining independent retail store with that type of heritage. Over 100 years and still in business. Wow!! Serving small towns and big, on the Web and they still have a catalog. Great century old private brands. Great value. JCPenney is what every other retailer dreams they could be - an iconic coast to coast retail chain.

    • It's a Chevy and I'm in love

      Chevrolet

      24 February 2007

I’ve owned many autos in my time but never a Chevy. When it came time to replace my 10 year old Saturn, I searched and searched until I found a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu 4 door sedan. It’s not new but, it’s a Chevy and I’m in love. The car is all electronic. The door locks the windows, everything. It’s awesome. The radio displays every song title, the outside temperature and even if ice is possible on the road! I always thought I would own a Jeep, but I think from now on it will be a Chevrolet.

    • There isn't a better chicken sandwich around

      Chick-fil-A

      24 February 2007

Chicken on a bun with a single pickle! What’s the BIG DEAL! Well it is the most amazing combination on earth. I would eat it everyday if I had all the money in the world to spend on it. I don’t know if it’s the cows, the fact that are closed on Sunday or what. Chick-Fil-A just hooks you, and like they say, you never forget your 1st. I love when we get coupons for free sandwiches. There isn’t a better chicken sandwich around.

    • The best cat food around

      Purina One

      27 February 2007

I have used other cat food, but this is the ONE that my cat loves the best. It keeps her healthy and trim. We use the senoir formula. Purina ONE is the best cat food around.

    • From that day on no more root beer

      Mountain Dew

      27 February 2007

When I was growing up, root beer was my soda of choice. But one day, I found Mt. Dew in a vending machine - orange juice loaded with caffeine - I don’t know! From that day on no more root beer. Later on they came out with a mixture of orange juice, caffeine and cherry. Wow! "Code Red" - dang it goes down smooth, what a sugar rush. I wish they bottled it by the gallon because I sure could drink it. Original was o.k., Live Wire good, Pitch Black, well orange and grape so-so, but there’s someting about cherry!

    • I try to remember how it came to be

      United States of America

      27 February 2007

I don’t try to look at America and what it is today. I try to remember how it came to be. People who had a home gave it all up for a chance in the new world, for a chance to be free. Since that time many others have done the same. Freedom is the power of America. Freedom to worship. Freedom to do just about anything you please, to say whatever you please. Nowhere else on this planet can you do that. So the streets aren’t paved with gold, but you would be free to do that if you wanted too! America is the land of the free and the home of the brave.

    • The coolest half hour on television

      Jeopardy

      01 March 2007

This is the coolest half hour on television. Nowhere else can you have so much fun while you're learning so much. I've watched it since I was little. I love it when I get a question right and the contestants don't. It's been on so long I feel like I know Alex Trebek. And let's not forget.... Do, Do,Do,Do, Do, Da, Do, Da ,Do, Da Do, Do, Dum!

    • What a wild concept

      Buffy the Vampire Slayer

      01 March 2007

How many times can you say that a t.v. show, derived from a movie, ends up being superior to said movie. I came upon this show after it had already been on the air for a year or two and became hooked. How could all that stuff be going on in Sunnydale and people not figure it out? What a wild concept - a town built over a"Hellmouth", vampires, slayers, watchers and the scooby gang. Josh Wheldon and company made it all come to life.

    • Firefly ranks right up there

      Firefly

      01 March 2007

I think Fox didn’’t get what they had when Josh Weldon pitched them this show, after all, they put it on Friday night. Firefly ranks right up there with Star Trek, Star Wars.

    • I never missed an episode

      Roswell

      01 March 2007

This was one of the neater shows out there. Aliens, a love story and teen stars - it should still be on the air today. I never missed an episode. It also showcased some of the coolest new music out there.

    • It's so much more

      Cadbury

      07 March 2007

It’s almost spring time again and with it comes the Easter Holiday. Oh man, that means candy. Jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, eggs and of course, my favorite Cadbury Mini Eggs. Now some may say that it’s just chocolate coated in a candy shell but, not I my friends. It’s so much more. Mini Eggs are better than M&M’s they have more chocolate. Easter should last all year.

    • Football is our game

      National Football League (NFL)

      07 March 2007

Football is our game of choice in my hometown ever since the 50’s. Oh we have dallied with baseball, but football is our game. First with the original and greatest "COLT" teams ever,  Johnny U. and the white and blue. The CFL Football team and the current NFL Baltimore Ravens. Me and the people of Baltimore love the National Football League.

    • Every song was magic

      The Statler Brothers

      07 March 2007

My dad first heard them on the radio and my mom got him a record. When they played it, I loved it. Every song was magic, the voices blended so well. Later on some how I found about their newsletter and signed up. For years I got christmas cards from them. I watched them on TV and visited their home in Virginia with my parents. I bought a lot of their records myself and was sad to hear of their recent retirement.

    • The most magical place on Earth

      Disneyland and Disney World

      07 March 2007

We went to Disney World for the first time in 1971. It was our dream vacation. We took our trailer and stayed at Fort Wilderness. It was awesome. Main Street and the Magic Kingdom were all that was there then, but it was cool. We’ve since gone back 3 more times; Epcot Center and Disney MGM Studios have since been added. It is the most magical place on Earth. Since our first trip there, Chip & Dale are my mom’s favorite Disney characters. I hope to go back again some time.

    • Williamsburg is just special to me

      Williamsburg, Virginia

      07 March 2007

I can't explain this one but I have and old faded black/white photo of my brother and I wearing tri-corner hats and holding British flags that are waving in the wind. We've travelled there on and off for years since that time, walking the histroric area, eating at the taverns and buying baked goods at the bakery. I send money every year to the foundation to help keep it going. I guess because I'm an American and believe in Freedom, I don't know what it is, but Williamsburg is just special to me. Something about that 1st Visit, I even wear a Corduroy William and Mary Baseball cap in the Winter that I bought there, and no one I know, including myself, went to that college. We go to Busch Gardens when we vacation in Williamsburg but we always visit the historic city.

    • Today's the Day

      Lovemark (The)

      07 March 2007

I first became aware of this site because our company is now working with Saatchi & Saatchi for our ads. I’ve had to create some signs for work and have come to understand the whole "Lovemarks" thing. In the course of my job, I’ve made some "Today’s the Day to" verses’. I now know how brands can grow into Lovemarks. Today’s the Day to let the World Know Your Love!

    • I can't get enough of this stuff

      Gatorade

      08 March 2007

I can’t get enough of this stuff and I don’t even workout, exercise or any of that junk. Our local stores sell 10 for $10.00 for a 32 oz bottle. Quite a bit! And I’ll buy 2-3 bottles at a time. I like the blue ones the most Cool Blue, Glacier Freeze, etc. Once I open it up I drink straight from the bottle and it doesn’t take long to empty a 32ozer. I know it doesn’t have any juice but boy it sure tastes good.

    • There is nothing more tasty

      Dr Pepper

      08 March 2007

I love this stuff. I can’t tell you what it tastes like but I love it. Mr. Pibb isn’t even in the same class as Dr. Pepper. I work for JCPenney which has it’s Home Office near Plano Texas and at our store in Maryland they have Dr. Pepper in the vending machine, plus Fritos in the snack machine, so sometimes I have what I like to call "A PLANO MEAL". Fritos, another Plano company, washed down with a 20 oz Dr. Pepper - there is nothing more tasty.

    • Just as tasty

      Good and Plenty

      08 March 2007

Saw these on sale at the store the other day and also remembered "Charlie the engineer". Good n Plenty, Good n Plenty, Good n Plenty Choo Choo!. It is funny how ads from our childhood were so simple yet more endearing than the ads of today. I bought the Good n Plenty and it was just as tasty as it was when I was a child. Now I wonder if they still make Good n Fruity!

    • I can't get enough of Mike & Ike

      Mike and Ike

      08 March 2007

I'm so old that I remember when Mike & Ike had two guys heads with hats on the package. Hot Tamales had a Mexican with a sombero, buddy let me tell you the wrapper might be different but, the candy hasn't changed. They sell them in machines at the mall a handful for a quarter and I always get some. They sell them in boxes at the store. I can't get enough of Mike & Ike.

    • The Baltimore Maryland area beer of choice

      National Bohemian

      08 March 2007

Growing up in the Baltimore Maryland area the beer of choice has always been "Natty Boh". With it's little one-eyed mascot Mr. Boh and all the creatures from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, it's the best tasting beer in the land of pleasant living! It's one of the brews from Pabst Brewing Co. Natty Boh is one of Baltimore's local icons, his simple round head, one eye and handlebar moustache. Natty Boh goes good with Maryland Blue Crabs.

    • I think it is the best state

      Maryland

      08 March 2007

I have lived here since my birth. It's all I know and I think it is the best state. Maryland has been called "America in miniature" because we have it all - mountains, farmland, seashores and lakes. Maryland has history as well - Indians, the Founding Fathers, the Civil War, Babe Ruth was born here. We have horse racing, water rafting and fishing. It is a great place to live.
