This man makes beautiful shoes
Fluevog

This man makes beautiful shoes. It is original in that he actually creates his own designs (where the typical shoe designer meerly chooses toebox + shaft + heel from a medley of designers), and is an extremely socially conscious manufacturer, to say nothing of the relative affordability of his shoes.
I heard on NPR..."
NPR - National Public Radio
17 January 2007
I never am less than amazed at how much one can learn from listening to the radio. I can’t tell you how many times a sentence starts, "I heard on NPR..." As much as I enjoy the news programs, secretly, I am madly in love with the weekend programing, which makes me laugh out loud (Car Talk, Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me, etc.)
Beautiful, frightening and emotional
This American Life

This is my absolute favorite radio program, and once the Showtime series begins, it will soon move to the top of the TV list as well. Beautiful, frightening and emotional stories....you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you will often find a morsel of yourself in a great number of these wonderful tales. It’s the best hour of entertainment money can buy!
A means of connecting and understanding
New York Times

I feel totally disconnected from the world without this wonderful paper. If crunched for time, I will always make a point to at least make it through the Top 10 most emailed articles, again, as a means of connecting and understanding what is so entertaining/appalling/interesting to my fellow readers.
Making healthy eating within reach
Trader Joe's
17 January 2007
This store is revolutionizing the way people look at wholesome food. Bringing an affordable alternative to Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck), this brand has a great emphasis on taste and cost effectiveness, making healthy eating within reach of all who are lucky enough to live near one.
