Beer of choice
Guinness
08 December 2006
I have never been a beer lover - well, not until I tried Guinness 20 years ago. I don’t think it’s the drink per se that really makes me love it, but there’s just something about the experience that is associated with drinking that dark malty brew that makes it my beer of choice.
With me through every moment
IWC Mark XV
08 December 2006
I can’t think of a more intimate object that seems to be there with me through every moment of the day. My IWC is present at significant moments with my family or when I wish to be alone. It is a witness to my life, and for that, it has gained my loyalty beyond reason.
My Nokia phone is my lifeline
Nokia
09 March 2007
My Nokia phone is my lifeline when I am travelling. The people who are the most important to me - my wife and my children - are only a phone call away at any time anwhere in the world. I travel a lot, but even away from a computer, I remain close to them. It’s amazing what my little phone does for me and family.
Forget everything you know about flying
Virgin Atlantic
27 April 2007
When Virgin Atlantic asks you to forget everything you know about flying, they have a point to prove. Flying their Upper Class Suite is the most sensuous experience; an experience I look forward to after the sterile and stressful environments of most airports. When I buy a seat on Virgin Atlantic, I buy a luxurious place in the sky as well as on the ground.
The hotel did not have CNN
CNN International
06 August 2007
I never realized how much I depended on this channel until recently. I was staying at hotel, and immediately, while unpacking, I automatically turned on the television and starting channel flicking. (There is something comforting about having a familiar voice in the background when you are away.) For some strange reason, the hotel did not have CNN. Maybe they didn’t subscribe to it. Maybe there was no reception. Maybe I just didn’t know how to use the remote. But somehow, that experience annoyed me to the point that I don’t think I’ll ever check into the same hotel again!
