It started in the year 2001. I was an exchange student in the US, and was very afraid that I would put on a lot of weight. The only sweet thing I ate in the first few months was Ben & Jerry’s! I have loved ice cream since forever, and I’m a kind of expert between family and friends, but this surprised me. It was simply perfect! You didn’t have to settle with one taste. It was all mixed, and pieces of chocolate and fruits and sauces, and...a sweets expert cannot wish for more! Since then, whenever we go abroad with my sister, if we see the B&J’s cow, we cannot stop ourselves. It doesn’t matter if we’re hungry or not. It just doesn’t matter. We HAVE to buy some! Why can’t we get it in Hungary??!! COME ON!!!
It’s a Hungarian sweet, like cottage cheese with sugar coated in chocolate. But this doesn't describe the taste, and you cannot imagine it until you've tried it! Everybody knows it, and it's hard to find someone who doesn't LOVE it! It's in the fridge of all the families. It can always renew itself without losing it's past. A lot of copies have appeared on the market, but none can even come close to it in people's minds. It's hip. Everybody wants a T-shirt, towel, or boxers, or anything. It won't look like advertising, it's cool. If people go abroad, they take stacks of it with them. Hungarians who live abroad ask their relatives to send them a load now and then. I can't explain how and when I fell in love. I'm just in it.
