    • iPod for every situation

      iPod

      12 February 2004

I can rarely be found without my iPod on my belt, earphones fed through my outer shirt so they don't dangle at risk of getting caught. At the office, continuous music streaming through my head helps me focus on my work so much better than the background conversations and silences. And on my bike and on foot, that music keeps my mind at ease and aware of traffic and other surroundings. As a non-driver, feet, pedals, and public transportation are my moving life, so I'm left with few automobile "passenging" opportunities to be without my music. Of course, I'm a passionate Mac power user and pundit, too. iPod, with its distinctive white earphones, makes this pride easier to show off to the crowds I pass by, my stride following the beat of the current tune.

      Cuisinart Food Processor

      16 June 2004

I love coming home to a refreshing smoothie, made with a banana, yogurt, orange juice, and fresh or frozen fruit . . . like berries or a peach in July. No ice, but occasionally some ice cream, like Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk or One Sweet Whirled, or anything with coffee and chocolate bits. There's no better way to make it than my Cuisinart food processor.

    • A place for reciprocal education

      Ithaca College

      17 August 2004

The best school in the U.S. for studies in communication, plus top of the line music, theatre, and physical therapy programs. My alma mater for a B.S. in Organizational Communication, Learning, & Design, the most comprehensive set of courses I could have found, with a notable focus on hands-on, "real world" experiences. Ithaca College prides itself on encouraging students to begin their major studies day one and spreading them out over four years, accompanied by a set of handpicked electives. A place for reciprocal education among faculty, staff, and students. (Most other schools seem to force students to wait two years before they start the work they're most looking forward to).
