  I am blown away by how many fans a television show's character could have. Danny Messer, the temperamental detective on CSI: NY has a following that surpasses even the popularity of the actor who plays him - Carmine Giovinazzo. Not to discredit Giovinazzo in any way. The colorful Det. Messer, with his mysterious mob-related background, wise-cracking ways, and explosive interrogations keep viewers on the edge, and Giovinazzo plays the part beautifully. You'll find lengthy discussions about Danny Messer in online forums such as Talk CSI - in everything from the way he walks and talks, to the way he dresses and behaves. Speculations about his past, what will happen to him in the future... you'd almost think the show centered on his character alone. You want loyalty beyond reason? Look no further.

  There was no other series of books I enjoyed as a child more than the Berenstain Bears. Each story is still clear in my memory, and I look forward to the day I can read the stories to my own children, the way my parents did to me.
