Foster's Lager
Widely touted as Australia’s most well-known beer, Foster’s Lager has been available outside of the country for more than 100 years.

Have Foster's and have a proper lager
What a bunch of carping whingers have been commenting here! The problem seems to be that they've all been converted to the "new taste" beers that have essentially been created to help attract females to their various brands; beers that are sweeter and lighter in flavour, and which have a reduced hop taste. And all the while, good old Foster's lager continues to grow in popularity right across the globe, with no change to it's traditional recipe since 1887. Foster's was originally brewed for men and still is. So to all of you anti-Fosterites I say, drink your "lolly-water" girly brews if you must, but one day when your taste grows up, have Foster's and have a proper lager.

Shame about the beer
Australia has some great beers. This in not one of them. The best thing about Fosters is the adverstising. Shame about the beer. Try a Crown or Cascade instead.

Not a beer you see commonly
As an Australian living in the UK, I continue to be astounded how many people here seem to like this beer. Like others have commented, it is not a beer you see commonly in Australia, and for good reason. Few beers are such excellent examples of what beer should ‘not’ be as Foster’s is!

Not the beer we drink around here ?
Fosters is as Australian as the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. I don't think I've ever seen anyone drink it outside of TV. This is not the beer that we drink around here.

Absolutely right
I think that Liz and Stevie are absolutely right. This is the worst beer made by Aussies, but I have to say that Foster's have done a great job with the brand because you can see it everywhere and even here in Argentina some people drink it. I don't know why but, remember this is about marketing, advertisement, brand building and the consumer is not rational.

I cringe
Fosters has to be the worst beer in Australia, it's weak, watery and over-hyped. There are so many better beers made here I cringe every time I think this is the face of Australian brewing that the world sees.

Heady indeed
Fosters is heady indeed - headily unpleasant. It's a bland, watery, disgusting brew, in the same category as Budweiser. It doesn't deserve to be a Lovemark - give me Stella Artois, Kronenbourg, Budvar or any Euro beer above Aussie and U.S. rubbish any day of the week. If this is a Lovemark, then it proves that love is blind (and presumably tasteless, too.)

That extra little bite
P'TSSsssssss! That's the welcoming sound of a can of Foster's being opened; heralding the fact that you are about to enjoy its heady pleasures. This classic Aussie beer is, quite simply, the best way I know to slake my thirst on a hot day, or at just about any other time. I love its crisp, refreshing taste, and that extra little bite that lifts Foster's up to be head and shoulders above all the other lager style beers on the face of planet beer. Who cares how many cases are sold in how many countries, or how many events are sponsored by this ubiquitous brand? I just love it for what it is - the best beer for ME! It's so far beyond brands or Lovemarks, it's in a category of its own.

Nothing else comes within cooee
Foster's Lager is about as Aussie as you can get, and you can get it just about anywhere, thank goodness. It's a home-grown Australian brand that's quite simply conquered the world. But best of all, there's nothing like sinking a cool, foaming Fosters on a hot day. When it comes to lagers, nothing else comes within cooee for me!
