After 50 years I still love it
The 'curiously strong peppermints' that I pop in whenever I want to feel fresh or avoid the temptation of lighting another cigarette. I love the tin box with it classic retro looks, the ritual of lifting the paper lining to reach for a piece, then rolling the tongue over the rough edges and inhaling the cool sting of peppermint flavour. I always keep a box in my desk, in my car and at home so that I never run out of my favourite. Right from my childhood I have been an Altoids addict and even after 50 years I still love it. The legend says Altoids comes from the time of King George III; well, the king may have lost his American colonies but he did have Altoids at least to keep his cool.

Curiously fruity!
Curiously fruity! Small and eagerly waiting Tangerine sours smiling at me. It is like biting an orange!

Back to a stage in my life
Altoids not only are my mom’s favorite calorie-less item when I was younger, but at the same time, it made your breath smell good?! Now, what could good breath possibly equal in an innocent girls mind - none other than a pre-adolescent love for anything not sexual or adult. Hence, in a world that is illuminated with intense sexual activity - whether it be in Miami or in the tabloids, Altoids are a way for me to enter back to a stage in my life that evoked "reality".

It's unfortunate
It's unfortunate they contain gelatin. Everyone I know has Altoids in their bag, on their desk, in their car, but not me. Although I love the container and the blurb "curiously strong", Altoids contain gelatin - unsuitable for vegtarians...it's unfortunate.

I whip out the 'toids
I try to stick a tin of these in my pocket any time I'm using public transportation. Many buses and trains frown upon you eating or drinking. So when you get a tickle in your throat, and start to cough, what can you do? I whip out the 'toids. Unfortunately, they do tend to set off the alarms at airport security checkpoints. :-(

Curiously effective
This little metal box has saved me from a lot of trouble. When I started dating a girl and somehow my breath was one of a dragon I pull out this little tiny box and get all the power out of this curiously effective mint that ended the problem and that my girlfriend loved. Really loved, so much that we got married and now we have 2 kids. So I really think these mints are really curious.
