The pure essence of adventure
The loveable machismo, the one-liners, the wry smile, inestimably cocky and inherently vulnerable at the same time, Indiana Jones is the pure essence of adventure. I smile to myself any time I think of scenes from the movies, and after just a brief exposure to, of all things, the Indiana Jones XBOX video game, my 4 year old son asks me to tell him "an Indiana Jones story" every night at bedtime. Concocting what kind of crazy trouble he might get himself into (and, of course, out of) is almost as enjoyable as the real thing.

Guess who was the first in line?
Summer 1981. I was 10 years old. I was at my cousin's house playing with the Star Wars action figures when my aunt and my other cousins invited us to a movie called by a strange name: Raiders of the Lost Ark. To go to that movie was a tough decision, because, you know, I was playing with Darth Vader, Luke and my cousin. But we went to the movies and it was one of the greatest moments in my own cinema history. Since that day I understood the famous slogan…"If adventure has a name it must be Indiana Jones". Winter 2004. The first day the complete Indiana Jones adventures in DVD hit the stores. Guess who was the first in line?
