The Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Since 1964, HSA has grown to enrich the lives of over 3000 students annually, providing beginning to advanced instruction in Dance, Music, Theatre, and the Visual Arts from preschool students to young adults

The little school that dared
This is the little school that dared. In the 60's it challenged conventional perceptions of the potential of the Harlem community, and has achieved the highest levels of arts training in the city that has the most demanding standards in the world. The Visual Arts Department dream is to become the community's cutting edge institution for visual art training in New York.
