Nobody has done more for the world of immersive video games than id software. First there was Wolfenstein, then Doom, and then Quake. Each breaking into uncharted territories while millions of addicted gamers marked off the days to the next mind-blowing experience. They say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." I'd say the gaming industry might have a crush on id.
