A true leader with compassion
Nelson Mandela really believed that nothing was impossible and always stuck to his principles. He is the most humane and forgiving person and always an inspiration to me when the going gets tough. Nothing could be tougher than what he went through and still to come out the other side a true leader with compassion, love and respect for all .

Power beyond measure
I feel passionately about Nelson Mandela because he changed the world. One man believing in what was right and willing to stand up for it no matter what the sacrifice. His example is all about the greatness we are all capable of. He is the best of all of us and inspires me beyond words and toward action. His story teaches me that I too can tap into my own power beyond measure.

Symbol of hope and goodness
He is without bitterness and able to bridge divides which most people said could not be closed. He is brave and has the courage to speak out on issues such as HIV even though most people of his age would be taking a rest. He is a symbol of hope and goodness. His face with its creases and wrinkles is testament to a life of struggle but also to his warmth.

Single-handedly "un-branded" South Africa
No - I don't think it odd that Madiba, as he is affectionately known, is regarded as a brand. Some baulk at the idea, but he has perhaps single-handedly "un-branded" South Africa as a pariah state and "re-branded" SA as the uniquely diverse country that it is - Peopled with equally diverse cultures, views and politics all tempered with the tolerance that he so fervantly espoused. A unique individual that represents "The Rainbow Nation".
