Felix The Cat

Felix the Cat first hit the screen on November 9, 1919, in Feline Follies. The mischievous feline, created by Otto Messmer for the Pat Sullivan Studio, rocketed to fame, holding a spot as the world's most popular cartoon character until the advent of Mickey Mouse.

  • Will always save the day...

I love Felix the Cat! I discovered Felix when I was eight years old when my grandfather gave me one of his old comics of Felix. Not only is Felix pleasing graphically, he is also very entertaining because of his expressive innocents. Felix without even trying will always save the day. In the old silent cartoons Felix is more primal but charming all the same. I'm waiting for a Felix revival. Come on Felix the Cat Inc, whip that marketing dept. in shape and get Felix back in the main stream!

  • A cool character

Well, being named Felix, it has been impossible to avoid the cat association. Even while doing a Spanish course in Nicaragua, I naturally got Felix el Gato as my "Spanish" name. It has never bothered me though, simply because Felix the Cat - with his magic bag of tricks - is such a cool character.

  • To this day I still collect everything I can

I have been besotted with Felix since a child. At the age of 18 I just had to have a Felix tattoo. To this day I still collect everything I can on him. Felix The Cat - a wonderful, wonderful cat. He breaks age, and cultural barriers. Simple but very effective to brighten our lives.
