  • Everything you want a TV programme to be

I only started watching MOTG from the beginning of series 4, but from the magical moment I sat down, Sunday 8pm, BBC 1, I was hooked. I don't know about you, but I think it is everything you want a TV programme to be. Funny, exciting, sensitive, entertaining, unexpected...and the list goes on. I am working my way through the DVDs and loving every minute!

  • Once seen never forgotten

I was encaptured by the programme about two years ago and have been totally addicted ever since, going through the whole series from start to finish. Such vibrant characters, humour, buckets of love, unexpected twists, all of it wonderful. I have been awakened to the sheer beauty and majesty of Scotland and intend to go there as soon as I can.

  • What are we going to do without it?

I have just finished watching the final episode of Monarch of the Glen and have to admit to a tear in my eye. It was a beautiful episode, one of the best I have watched and I have watched them all! If you have not yet seen this the final one then look forward to it, and yet, do not. What are we going to do without it?

  • No alternative but to watch each and every week

The characters, the setting, the story lines, all fuse together to give Monarch of the Glen its adorable charm. You watch in awe, the vast mountains, lochs and forests of the scottish highlands and find yourself completely lost in its beauty. The wonderfully unbalanced characters provide endless entertainment and you can't help yourself from loving each and every one of them. Archie and Lexie's endearing romance in the earlier series was of particular brilliance along with Hector and Molly's constant hilarious banter. Every element of the show gives you no alternative but to watch each and every week. For all of these reasons I am now and always will be a proud Monarch Fan.

  • A history you want to be part of

Monarch of the Glen shows us much more than pretty landscape. It shows us how people can really live. It shows peoples' personalities that you can fall in love with. You start to feel and understand the characters. You being to love the actors. You make plans to visit Scotland as well, because of the views, and you finally get in touch with your family history. A history you want to be part of. Thank you Monarch of the Glen!!!!

  • Land of my ancestors

I absolutely adore this show! It has changed my life by directing my attention to the land of my ancestors. I have learned so much about Scotland as a result, and am going over to visit in May, 2007. Planet Glenbogle is a wondrous place that will live forever in my heart (and my DVD player).

  • It's a world apart, a place to escape

I love Monarch of the Glen. However, I am ashamed to admit that I didn't watch the first 3 series as, being young and foolish, I thought it was rubbish! Then I watched an episode (my mum and sister loved it) and I was hooked. Not only are the storylines fab, it's a world apart, a place to escape for an hour to watch these fantastic characters develop and live with us on screen. My favourite character has to be Jess, not least because Rae Hendrie is my all-time favourite actress!

  • I'm getting everyone I know hooked on it

I was flipping channels and saw Monarch on the PBS station. The accents caught my attention, then Al MacKenzie, then Susan Hampshire, and then I was hooked. It wasn't till the third time I saw it that I learned what the name was. now I'm getting everyone I know hooked on it. I have bought the first 3 seasons on DVD and make everyone watch them. The story lines are great and I love all the characters! I'm from Texas. No Scottish ancestors that I know of.
