A sip of the sublime
I’m translating The Lovemarks Effect into Italian and as soon as I got the feel of Lovemarks, I closed my eyes and Chinotto came up. Chinotto is to me what a madeleine is to Proust or Rosebud to Orson Wells: a sip of this sublime, bittersweet fizzy drink opens up scenarios of treasured childhood memories, like my feet plunging into the warm June sand, straight after school or the breeze softly brushing my face while I’m skateboarding home or a game of cards with my best friends in the shade of a palm tree or the world seen from my favourite tree top. A mouthful of Chinotto has both the caring touch of a parent’s hug after you’ve made a mistake and the thrill of a first, longed for, kiss. Intimacy, Sensuality and the Mystery of life.

Beloved, a little mysterious
The flavor corresponds to the package -- slightly bittersweet, a throwback to the styles associated with Italy during the Age of Mussolini. This is reinforced by the seductive, accented "̣" of "Chiṇ", and the stark contrast between a black can with a protective foil cap and the white typography: beloved, a little mysterious, slightly withdrawn.
