I try to remember how it came to be
I don’t try to look at America and what it is today. I try to remember how it came to be. People who had a home gave it all up for a chance in the new world, for a chance to be free. Since that time many others have done the same. Freedom is the power of America. Freedom to worship. Freedom to do just about anything you please, to say whatever you please. Nowhere else on this planet can you do that. So the streets aren’t paved with gold, but you would be free to do that if you wanted too! America is the land of the free and the home of the brave.

If you do want to judge us by our leaders...
Don't judge the USA by our politicians. If you do want to judge us by our leaders, look at the history of our Presidents compared to the history of the heads of state of other countries around the world, and you will find we are pretty good over all.

Americans need to make that distinction...
It's the "idea" of America which makes the USA what it is. There are many people on this planet who dislike Americans, but still love the "idea" of America. The State Department and the Army are not America. People who want to live in peace and harmony, free to express their thoughts, dreams and opinions. That is America. There are many citizens in many different countries that are able to make that distinction. Sometimes, I think Americans need to make that distinction themselves.

On the cusp of greatness
I love what my country represents, without loving what we've become. We sit on the cusp of greatness, yet seem destined to squander the opportunites that we could have to truly make the world a better place for all of the world's citizens. I hope that those reading this from outside the United States realize that there are many, many Americans who treasure our relationships with the rest of the world, and who are working to change our country to better demonstrate that we can be a good global citizen.

Almost - but not quite
I love this country for the simple reason that it is my country. Now, it has been tarnished by the current administration almost beyond repair. We have lost almost all our allies, have no moral standing, and I think one of the world's great hopes has been dashed. I wish I could wake most Americans up so that they could really see what greed, avarice, short-sightedness, phony patriotism, and deception has done to this place. I am almost - but not quite -- ashamed to be an American.

Oppressor of freedom
The USA stands for stupid ignorant people chanting U S A at the top of their voices not knowing how their country is perceived overseas. The saviour of freedom is now the oppressor of freedom. It is a nation that stands for double standards, what is right for them is not right for the rest of the world. They even have fancy names for people that should be American. Why are there African, Native, Asian and Latin Americans but no European Americans?

I say it's so
I don't care if you think the U.S. sucks or is a big waste of space. It's a damn Lovemark, because I say it's so and I love this country--even when I don't agree with my President, who's an idiot. You couldn't pay me to live elsewhere. You couldn't make me hate my country. The politicians, yes. My country, never.

A melting pot
As an American I am part of a melting pot of nationalities. Whenever I travel to other countries I find that we are perceived in a multitude of ways; sometimes even good. I would venture to say that the USA is home to people from virtually every country of this world. Americans have spread the word of tolerance for many years; see tolerance-net.org - tolerance matters.

The world community
Wake UP, people! The "brand" of America has been tarnished almost beyond repair. Freedom, liberty and choice are nice sentiments but unfortunately in light of recent events, these qualities are less and less associated with the US. (Thank you, President Bush!) Let's stop bragging and make America what it really should be: a world leader but also a morally just member of the world community.

A rewarding brand
America is the greatest of all my Lovemarks. It stands for freedom, liberty and choice. Whether you agree or disagree with the brand, it gives you the freedom to speak out, to take control, and make it better. If you invest everything you have in America, it is the only brand that will truly reward you.
