Filled with fascinating stories
The ABA is part of a bygone era where seasons and entire franchises could be born, live wild lives, and die, all without being noticed by most of the sporting public. Far from not being noteworthy, the ABA was filled with fascinating stories, and its impact on the NBA and today's game was gigantic: Dr. J, all-star weekends, 3 point shots, playing to the crowd, among others. Erving and the new style of play revitalized the NBA and made it what it became and is today.

So true
I thought the story was so true. Nowadays it seems if it's all about money, not the love of the game or team. I wish more people played for the love of the sport like they used to.

Flash and power and joy
The flash and power and joy that NBA fans take for granted in todays game began here. This was a league of second cities, full of outcasts with wild hair and wilder moves. It was these has-beens, these never-weres, and just a few incredible soon-to-be's that gave us the three-pointer, the true slam dunk and that unforgettable red-white-and-blue ball.
