  • My preferred band

I was introduced to The Clash in the summer of 1979. Some friends of mine went to London to learn English, one does not want to know what they did in reality. One of them brought with him a copy of London Calling, the record, and we spent the evenings listening to it. I was 12 and I was shocked. It was the most attractive collection of songs and styles, from rockabilly Brand New Cadillac to Wrong 'em Boyo ska. Once on sale in Spain, I received it as a gift for Christmas in December. My old record copy is used but still in enough good shape. Never saw them in concert, but saw Mick Jones' Big Audio Dinamyte in 1990, and The Clash is, as teenagers say, my preferred band. And no one else will take the place.

  • Define punk rock for me

Ever since I was 13, The Clash were, and still do to this day, define punk rock for me. After listening to the blaring riffs of London's Burning, I knew that, at least on the inside, I would be a punk for a long time.
