Took too much
I think Leary took too much of his stuff, probably his drug of choice, acid. He came up here to speak at the Seattle Center in the 80s or early 90s, and you couldn't understand him for long. He rambled, stopped talking mid-sentence, forgot what he was talking about many times, and was generally boring. Especially considering the high price he charged the public to listen to him, he sounded like a brain fried has-been, out on tour collecting big bucks for drivel.

Managed to personify the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's
Harvard professor, 60's Guru, pre-Bill Gates computer advocate, sci-tech spiritual ego head. Whether hob-nobbing the world with Warhol, Burroughs, Leary, Grace Jones, Keith Haring or Salvador Dali, Leary kept a clan of world-class friends, wrote over 12 books, was featured in numerous movies, and somehow managed to personify the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. He was computers, acid, mystic, rock 'n roll, high art, professor and techno all at the same time.
