  • A brand name, a Lovemark

Some people seem to think that it is not justified to list Warhol as a brand name, a Lovemark, because he is human. I would normally agree that as a norm I would never agree to that. But there ARE some individuals that are Lovemarks, and Warhol certainly is one of them. He is a genius, the ultimate superstar. He made statements about commodification by commodifying his art, his own name. If he did this, why would it not be ok for us to acknowledge it by stating that he is a brand? This does not take away from his art, nor does it make us misunderstand his intent!

  • Get with it, people!

Andy Warhol isn't a brand-name or a 'Lovemark', he's a human like you and me! Get with it, people! Don't any of you understand what he was trying to say in his work?

  • A real star

A real genius of the past century, a crazy and fantastic items collector, he used to collect everything from cans to paints, conversations, images, all you can name, best introducer of the pop culture, friend of all the stars, no problem for Andy to get into studio 54 at the time, a real star.

  • An icon of his age

Not to mention the soup cans, marilyn monroes, crazy films, etc. Truly an icon of his age and a man who changed the face of art for future generations.

  • Because of Andy Warhol

Andy is a mega tour-de-force if not by name then by defaut. For it is he that spawned or helped the POP movement. He didn't start POP but he became a master of it. Not only his art but his personality. The best read book on him is Holy terror by Bob Cochello - fabulous. I was inspired to be an artist in college and seek a career because of Andy Warhol.

  • Pure genius

A gay albino genius in a woman's wig creating the ideas, and sending other people off to screen them - pure genius. Friends with Haring, Burroughs, Leary, & Nico, and launched the Velvet Underground. Again, pure genius.
