  • Always soothing

Wherever you go in Canterbury there are glimpses of this tall, impressive building which dominates the city. The best view is from the hilltop campus of Kent University. To walk in the grounds is always soothing. The cloisters are particularly calm and a good spot to sit and contemplate. As you pass through the wall into the memorial garden the traffic noise vanishes and peace descends. The spires look wonderful against a blue sky and when illuminated at night, but I do think they should turn the spotlights off in the interests of energy-saving.
