Constantly fascinating
This show is great not just because of great writing, interesting characters, and challenging problems. It’s how one feels about Dr. House himself. This anti-hero is a man you love to hate. But you also hate to love him. He’s morally ambiguous at best. You rarely agree with him, you often disagree with him, sometimes violently. But you’re sympathetic toward him on a level that’s hard to get in touch with - and even more difficult to explain. The show is constantly fascinating.

A show about the meanest, nastiest, most irreverant doctor in the world that went on to be a crittically-acclaimed smash hit? Doesn’t seem likely...until it happened. House is one of the most brilliant and most original shows in TV history. Hugh Laurie’s portrayal of the snarky doctor is fabulous, and lovable. And that’s the appeal. He’s cantankerous but you still want him to solve the mystery and get the girl. The immortal character you hate to love and love to hate.
