  • A roving bit of Australia

Qantas is a forever a roving bit of Australia. So many people make the comment that when they get on board they are home, back in Australia. They relax, they fall in love. From any airport. In England or Japan or any where, the reaction is very real. I have experienced it many times. But recently Qantas did a very un-Australian thing. It attempted to hire potential strike-breakers to take on flight attendants. The neagtive recation was loud & clear, instant and the company backed away. It appears love works in many ways.

  • No one can come close

This must be the best airline - period. I believe that I've traveled with nearly every air carrier (with the exception of Aeroflot - thank God!). No one can come close to Qantas; exceptional service, food and the best safety record in the biz. Did I mention that the flight attendants are the most beautiful in the skies? Definitely the best way to spend 22 hours in the air.

  • Lovely

Any airline that sports mainly shorts-wearing male cabin crew who give you lovely fresh cold water before you've even taken off, is OK with me!!

  • Inspires my confidence

QANTAS - or for those who don't know the history (or why there is no U after Q) The "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service. The safest and most reliable airline in the world. one of the longest continually operating. The hyperbole could continue......the brand has polish and inspires my confidence.

  • Perpetual emotion

Sure it may be just another airline to others, but the emotional connection between Australians and Qantas goes far beyond simple air transport from A to B. Qantas embodies the free, adventurous spirit of Australians. I challenge even the most hard-hearted Aussie not to have a bout of home-sickness after seeing a 747 sporting the famous White Kangaroo. And the association with Peter Allen's emotive - 'I still call Australia home' was a master-stroke - it only strengthened the feelings for me.

  • Helping out

I admire the national carrier of Australia for helping out the community when things are bad. The part Qantas played in air lifting thousands of people out of Bali after last year's terrorist attacks is a shining example.
