  • An entire culture

Harry Potter isn't just a series of books and movies, it's an entire culture in our entertainment world. Everything about Harry Potter, from the font on the cover of the book, to spell names like "Expelliarmus!" and "Wingardium Leviosa!", to Qudditch, and to the theme song from the movies, the Harry Potter culture is so powerful and recognizable. It's no surprise that the opening of the latest Harry Potter film held midnight sold-out showings all across the country, with fans dressing up in robes with wands. I, myself, dressed up as Hermione Granger for Halloween in the 6th grade. It's a series of books and movies that can be read over and over again and that will continue to influence many generations of people, regardless of age, for many years to come.

  • No other entertainment phenomenon

There is no other entertainment phenomenon like Harry Potter. This book has sold ridiculous amounts of copies and movie tickets, not to mention paraphernalia. People do not just like Harry Potter, they are obsessed with it. I cannot think of a brand that has more audience loyalty than Harry Potter.

  • A modern day classic

It doesn't matter how old you are or when you start reading, but Harry Potter is now a modern day classic. I started reading these when I was about twelve (when HP&COS was just out) and became an instant fan. I can totally immerse myself in these stories, and when I finished the last one after two days of reading, I actually felt as though I had lost a friend and would never see them again. I was so devastated, but in saying that, seven books is just a nice number and they did end well. Will read these over and over because they will never tire! L.O.V.E them.

I wrote to JK telling her what her series has done for me and to wish her thanks and to my surprise she responded with a hand written letter. We are now pen pals hehe! I have opened a site in her honor as my way of saying thanks. The url is: http://inhonorofrowling.com I am currently working on a page for people just like me who have be effected by Harry and/or Jo. I was wondering if you guys would like to take part in this page? The site will be veiwed by Jo. Since Harry has helped so many people I thought it would be nice to share those heartfelt stories. I am hoping that this page might become an inspiration for those in need and that they too will find help with in Harry.

  • Glittering with excitement

When my daughter Vaid talks about Harry Potter, her eyes were glittering with excitement. And my son Dash filled with astonishment – when he listened to her sister. What more a father would like to see. There is no doubt Harry Potter is the living–legendary–character–lovemark of the 21st century.

  • A wonderful, lasting impact on my life

Harry Potter has changed my life in a way nothing else possibly could. It has made me laugh, cry, think very hard, and re-examine my values. It has helped to fuel my love of literature, and inspire me to write novels of my own. (Though I doubt would even be a tenth as good as Harry Potter...) I thank J.K. Rowling for creating the rich, imaginative world of Harry Potter, and thus, creating such a wonderful, lasting impact on my life.

  • Fuelled my imagination

Harry Potter has transformed my life since I was six years old. It has given me drive, fuelled my imagination and turned on the ignition with respect to my most desired career path, writing. This book has made such an impact on so many people that JK Rowling deserves to be acknowledged hundreds of times a day.

  • We all love you and your couragous ways

Oh Harry Potter how we all love you and your couragous ways. All I would like to know is if the English version of HP differs from other versions, e.g. the American. If so, why??? Surely the original is better!!

  • Simply feels right

First, I saw the movie. After 5 seconds I told my husband "I will love it". He only laughed at me. But gave me the second book as a present for Valentine’s day... and read his first one when I was already into the fourth. (It simply feels right that he is also "into Harry Potter"). I read it on the bus, during meals, in the bathroom, and in the bed. Imagining how it will be going through it all over again together with my daughter when she turns couple of years older. Torturing myself with sadomasochistic thought, that the next book could had been the last one. And then rewarding myself with the sweet one “It’s not! It’s not! It’s not!”

  • Harry Potter never gets old.

I have always been a reader and have thousands of books to my credit, but Harry Potter never gets old and never ceases to touch me, make me laugh, make me cry, infuriate me, or make me shout with joy. Harry has provided me with comfort and a constant friend. It was a lucky day for the world when Harry strode into JK Rowling's imagination. We are lucky that she has shared him with us!
