“The Art & Soul of Cooking” – what a perfect tagline. I first discovered Sur La Table walking through Pike Place Market in Seattle years ago. Hardwood floors and natural light from clear windows greeted me immediately. From that first visit, I was hooked on the possibilities the store represented. The time spent lingering in each aisle, looking with wonder at the beautifully crafted culinary objects I came across. Every item imaginable seems somewhere magically housed within those walls. Crazily expensive pots and chef knives that only the most proficient culinary expert could possibly appreciate. But there they are, for sale for any kitchen commoner to purchase and use. But it’s more than just what Sur La Table offers on its shelves that made me fall in love. It’s the sense that you’re part of a select group of people who “get it” every time you set foot in the store.
