They reminded me of the vintage pair he wore
Dress them up or down. My Cole Haan boots are elegant, comfortable, confident – size 10 freedom in basic black. I wore them when I met my wife on a blind date. They were there when I proposed. They’ve negotiated a treaty with the Penn Station stairs. Navigated countless appointments. I never wore boots until my father passed. I bought them because they reminded me of the vintage pair he wore. I couldn’t fill his shoes – his size 9s are now stuffed with mass cards and obituary announcements. My boots are semi-retired. The wife is tired of my scuffed leather and worn soles. She bought me a pair of Charles Tyrwhitt’s, but it’s not the same...He makes nice shirts though!
