    Sesame Street is probably my very first brush with American culture and that was 30 years ago. Way before sitcoms, reality TV. And yet it's not about the American way of life. It's about the world's way of life.

  • Because the makers believed

    Sesame Street probably did more to teach my generation about life's basics than the country's ministry of education. Why? Because the makers believed in a totally heretical concept - that learning should be FUN. From the hi-jinks of Ernie and Bert to the psychedelic cartoons detailing the first 20 numbers and the alphabet, Sesame Street presented engaging educational snippets that both informed and entertained. To this day, if I have to run through the alphabet in my mind, my brain plays back a Sesame Street animated short. Standards have dropped in recent years - Jim Henson's presence is sorely missed and the rise of Elmo has perhaps alienated adults who would otherwise enjoy the show. But the program still charms audiences of all ages even as it positively shapes young minds.

  • The skyscraper of children's education

    Sesame Street! The show deserves a Lovemark as the skyscraper of children's education in the gamut of television programs. From heavy matters of racial diversity and death to easy memory games teaching numbers and the alphabet. I grew up with it. I learned from it. I still appreciate the impact Sesame Street has had upon me.

  • Mentally stimulating

    While every other children's show encouraged kids in their most easily-influenced years to talk like they were mentally incapacitated, Sesame Street's little muppet 'Roosevelt Franklin' was belting out "What Goes Up, Must Come Down" in the name of post-toddler physics. It was just so cool.

  • One of my dearest childhood memories

    One of my dearest childhood memories is learning with the Sesame Street gang. I don't think anything or anyone else has influenced my learning more than Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Kermit, Grover and The Count.

  • Counting the continuity

    I have grown up in a world where man had already landed on the moon. There has always been Sesame Street too. I'm watching it now with my 2 year old son. There is a nice feeling of continuity, between his life and mine. I love looking out for the old original animations ...1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12!

    Well, everyone on the globe loves Sesame Street. It exists in most countries and when I remember Jim Hensonīs characters I must smile about the anarchic and educating humor they brought me. I will never forget it.
