A lovemark full of surprises
I remember his world tour of " Hamlet" in 1979. It was amazing. Sir Derek is an amazing actor. He is a lovemark full of surprises. Good Luck!

What glee was writ on my face
From far off India I once wrote Sir Derek Jacobi a fan letter and he replied. What glee was writ on my face. I have the letter framed on the wall above my desk and when I visit England I try to catch him on stage. A totally amazing actor. An enthralling lovemark to put it more succinctly. Has to be seen to be believed.

Tto the borders of panic and enchantment
I have seen Sir Derek Jacobi act. Concise, earthly, human his acting excellence occurs only in a "second circumstance" more real than whatever you may have expected-perhaps distinguished by it being,"hyper real". He takes you to the borders of panic and enchantment and he makes you suffer the passion and the distance between yourself and the human plurality. In his acting I perceive a vast ethos. I saw Sir Derek in "Don Carlos" and I realized that he must always ask for the impossible for that is all that he is able to give. The world's most magnificent and significant actor. My hands ached from the applause that I have justifiably given him. Please Sir Derek give us more of a curtain call.

Enriched our lives...
"God hath touched Derek Jacobi on the shoulder" as Larry Olivier would have said. He is the Picasso of acting and he keeps attempting to excel-even as a peer of the realm. When I met him, he has been the most gracious person with impeccable manners. His plaintive dialogue from the play "Kean" still rings in my ears "I work for a living." Indeed Derek Jacobi has enriched our lives with Claudius, Richard the II or whatever else he attempts while at the same time working for his extraordinary living. We love and appreciate this more than he will ever know.

A class apart!!
I saw Derek Jacobi a couple of times in my life. His hypocritical abilities in drama and comedy make your hair stand on end. Firstly, I want to say that if anyone is the best Hamlet there ever was it is he. I wish to express my commendations for his efforts to prompt research regarding Shakespeare and Edward de Vere. I want to see a performance of Oedipus Rex on film soon using the Rontiris method of full masks for the chorus in broad daylight. No one can play Oedipus Rex except Derek Jacobi - cheeky devil - as Sir Lawrence Olivier said of him. He is my absolute all time favourite. A class apart!!

The greatest living thespian
The greatest living thespian in the whole universe...ever-the summit. He takes us out of orbit with his performances. He is a para-signifier of sorts for greatness. Whether is it Edward De Vere - Shakespeare or Sophocles the only actor alive who can deliver the complex roles and an episode on Frasier with such perfection. The best living actor of our time. No wonder he is distingushed and acclaimed yet he has no ambitions for accolades but to simply still become a better thespian. Let those who can set this example of humility and integrity!
