  • A great privilege

I totally agree with this comment, being form the French Guiana; I also would love to have Munster blood in me. I once flew over Munster on my way to the states and I considered it a great privilege.

  • It belongs to the heart, not the head

Best leave comments to Mr Richard Harris: "It belongs to the heart, not the head. Something to be embraced, or spurned - there can be no middle ground. I must also acknowledge Cork's wonderful contribution to Munster rugby over the years, but the essence of the game I know and love is to be found in Limerick. The heroes of Limerick rugby are my heroes. Gladiators, square-jawed warriors who represent us on the battlefield. They are also heroes off the field - men who can drink, sing and talk of great deeds. I am intensely proud of individuals such as Peter Clohessy, Mick Galwey, Anthony Foley and all the boys. Keith Wood, whose father I used to play alongside, is another hero. He lives the rugby life we all dream of." (Daily Telegraph 2002)

  • Now it's all Munster

I know this man. The passion he has for Munster Rugby has completely transformed his life. He used to be devoted to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and particularly Freddie Mercury. He even had all the gear! Now it's all Munster and Shannon and "There is an Isle".

  • Generates unparalleled passion and emotion

Munster Rugby generates unparalleled passion and emotion in the sporting sphere. In a region of Ireland where rugby transcends religious and social divide, Munster rugby has inspired the most committed and loyal rugby supporter base known, both natives of Munster and others. The legacy of 15 amateur players conquering the almighty All Blacks in 1978 still generates sales of books and videos and has been the inspiration for a wonderful stage play, “Alone it Stands”. This Munster anthem, brings a tear to the eye of the most hardened male, as observed at the end of two European Cup Final defeats, in Cardiff and Twickenham. My greatest regret is not being a native of Munster, and therefore not having a claim that the Munster passion is in my blood. My greatest achievement is that my eldest daughter was born in Munster. There is an Isle, a bonny Isle...
