A great symbol
The bee symbol chosen by Bridgeman is an icon that has been used through the ages and is eve more relevant in our modern society. Bees work as a team; they are focused and energetic in their activities; they are value-creators in transforming nectar to honey and depositing pollen for other generations of bees to enjoy the fruits of their labours. Because of this, they enrich our environment without leaving a destructive trail behind them. What wonderful creatures they are! Creative and non-destructive. Even the bumble bee is more likely to roll over when attacked than sting you. A great symbol for all that should be good in our society.

So international
I think the Bridgeman Art Library's logo is fantastic because it is a clear and simple symbol representing a good work ethic - the busy bee. It applies to many situations and is not easily forgotten. It is so international.
