Able to dig deeper than so many
An amazing singer/songwriter who isn't afraid to lay it on the line and be honest. Not many artists can instill such emotion and truth in their songs: male or female, but Sarah McLachlan seems to be able to dig deeper than so many and present an honest and emotionally raw performance on every single one of her many albums. I am honoured to have accidently happened upon her work early on after watching "Due South" and hearing "Possession" in the early 90's. I would love to hear Sarah and David Gray write a song: Hint Hint.

A rare performer and person...
Sarah MacLachlan is an exceptional songwriter and singer who is one of the few positive role models for young women. She stays true to her music, self and fans. She does not change to fit music industry standards. She cares about others to the point of donating millions of dollars to local and national and worldwide charities. She is a rare performer and person. Sarah definitely deserves to be on this list.

A way to let my emotions run free
Oh, Sarah. "I only hope that I won't disappoint you." That could be my personal slogan. Your songs have always been there for me - as a source of comfot during my distress and as a way for me to sing along and let my emotions run free. I remember giving Solace to my boyfriend (now husband) as he helped me move into my college dorm and he had to drive back to our hometown. It was incredibly hard to know I couldn't see him every day, but we pulled through. Now we play all your CD's together. "I will remember you."
