We'll be back
When it's time for summer vacation, the kids ask "When are we going to Mackinac Island?!" We have been many times, but this year was our first overnight stay on the island, and I could honestly nominate it for a "priceless" campaign. There just aren't too many places near home you can go and be away from cars - where you know the kids are always safe, and you can live life at a different pace. On the one day tours, we always felt compelled to pack everything in - the fudge, the 8 mile bike ride around the island, the fort tour, etc - and would come back exhausted. Staying two days revealed a whole different Mackinac, and now has the kids pining for a whole week the next time around. We'll be back - we all love Mackinac Island!

I spent one summer on the island - one of my best ever months in my life. It is enviromentally friendly, green, blue, has good pubs and places to go out, eventful and sooooo beautiful you can't help but wish to go back again!

The peace gained...
I was at the island on a bus tour. There are no cars on the island. All traffic is by horse, buggy, bicycle or on foot. The peace gained from the quietude takes a person back to a slower pace and in the mind a more relaxing time while not in the fast pace of everyday life.
