The Swiss are famous for their designs and environmentally friendly products. And one of the most known designer pieces is a Freitag bag. I own one also. I bought it when I had an exhibition in Basel last year. It still looks great and my presentations were never dryer on a rainy day!

Their concept - love it!
Studying design and living in Zurich, this brand is very familiar to me. One of the two brothers founding Freitag used to be involved in some school projects and my ex-student-schoolmate was interning with them. I went to see their company/warehouse twice. Very impressive! And I love their shop made out of containers. You have a nice view over Zurich from the top and a bit of sports climbing up the stairs. Oh their concept - love it!

How authentic, how cool!
When you first open a Freitag bag you get a wift of smell of oil and grit - how authentic, how cool! I love the idea that it's made from recycled materials so it's good for the environment. I bought a 'man bag' for my husband who loves the idea of walking around with recycled airbags and tyre tubes and truck tarpaulins. But mostly I love the designs. They are so funky. And have a special 'industrial' look. And because they are made from reused components it means each bag is truly unique. All in all a great concept in every way.
