  • Tea with a soul

I was sipping on a cup of Dilmah when I first started to read the 'Lovemarks' book...the perfect combination! I had also just read a letter from a series written by its founder Merrill J. Fernando which is a very honest, from the heart expression of his views on the tea industry and the detrimental effect multinationals have unfortunately had on the quality of tea. It is also a passionate expression of his love for tea. I love this line..."Tea the way it was made for several generations. That is real tea - tea with a soul."

  • These guys keep the big brands honest.

This is one very good tea. You see this brand in some Canadian stores but I don't think the guys get much of a chance to reach as many people as would like to buy their product because it probably costs a lot. That is a pity because like many family businesses with passion and vision, these guys keep the big brands honest. Thats important to me and it should be to everyone else if you want to avoid a world where our lives and buying are controlled by a handful of corporations.

  • The tea is damned good too...

In a world saturated with brands that talk big, think big and profit big, these guys are different. I would like to think that the future of business lies with companies like Dilmah, whose ethics and integrity can only endear them and their product to every consumer. Ultimately the tea is damned good too, so to my mind that makes Dilmah a genuinely unique brand - one that really does what it claims.

  • Based on my confidence...

Truly, this is a marketing and product success story. My total allegiance and loyalty changed to Dilmah upon reading the story of the brand and product, supported by its taste. I started with breakfast tea and based on my confidence in the brand now buy anything else they produce in preference to other brands.

  • Love of life

Dilmah Tea: Merrill Fernando loves Ceylon tea so much he makes it available for us to choose; not consume or just drink, to choose to drink and enjoy. Merrill hasn't created a brand of tea, he's created an ingredient that exists in the hearts of people for whom a cup of tea forms an essential part of their love of life.
