Bono
Paul "Bono" Hewson was originally nicknamed "Bono Vox" - meaning "good voice" in cockeyed Latin - by a high school cohort who stole it from a hearing aid store on O'Connell Street in Dublin. Paul later shortened it to Bono, which remains his name to this day. [SEE also U2 on the Lovemarks List].

Humanitarian rock-star
Humanitarian rock-star. Not exactly your average title. Bono is not only one of the greatest musicians of all time, but he is considered to be one of the most generous philantropists alive today. He tied The Gates' for Time's Person of the Year. He has won numerous Grammys. If you ask me, that makes him worthy of a spot on this list.

A wonderful combination
Bono you are my hero without a doubt! I love your passion for helping others around the world - sometimes by writing a song, sometimes by donating direct to a good cause, sometimes by starting your own project or organisation. But always with this great motivation for doing right and using your name and fame to get things done! You are a great inspiration to me - please keep up the good work!
