Neko Case has a voice that could caramelize an apple while turning the fructose to whiskey. She synthesizes influences as diverse as Loretta Lynn and the Velvet Underground into music that makes your heart or maybe your tear ducts swell. In addition to a series of amazing solo albums, her tunes with the New Pornographers get my butt moving and set my spinal cord on fire. She does her own thing her own way, and her fans just love to try and keep up.
