Kool-Aid

The Kool-Aid in our lives...

I used to love Kool-Aid when I was a kid and my mom used to indulge my love of Kool-Aid by making it every day for me after school. One day at school, just after I turned 5, I discovered I knew how to read. I decided I would use my newly acquired skill and make my favourite drink by myself. I carefully followed the directions, added some ice and poured myself a cool, refreshing glass of grape Kool-Aid. My mom emerged from her room and came down to the kitchen to see me drinking my Kool-Aid and reacted with jaw-dropping astonishment. "How did you make it yourself," she wondered aloud with a huge smile on her face. "I learned how to read mom!" I said. I think we all love the Kool-Aid in our lives that remind us of our youth and innocence.
