That joyous, liberated spark
Why dp the Pixies mean so much to me? Simple. They make noise that Friday night feels like. That joyous, liberated spark that you get with the realisation that there is a limitless universe, and have an invitation to play in it for the next 2 days, before returning to earthly responsibilities. No matter what depressive funk or stressed out mess I'm in, I know that with a Frank Black Vocal, a Kim Deal bass line, and a handful of drums and rhythm, I can usually get up off my arse & spin myself around in time to face whatever I'm up against. I also adore them for being an aural substitute for coffee & a cigarette :)

Multi-layered
The Pixies are a great band that really were the forefront to so many bands of the 90's. The music is catchy, multi-layered and the lyrics are wild. I am so glad that they got back together and I hope to hear more and more from them.
