What Saturdays were made for
I started watching Wrexham having spent a couple of days in hospital with concussion. That was back in 1974. What a headache!! Wrexham F.C is what Saturdays were made for. (I often think what I would have done had I not gone to hospital......30 years of shopping on a Saturday afternoon).

Put the town on the map
There are only two things in life I love more than Wrexham Football Club. My wife and my family. The club means so much to me and I would be lost without it. The Racecourse Ground holds a special place in my heart as it was the first football ground I went to with my father and my brother. I have spent many happy afternoons there and many sad afternoons, but overall I think it is the heart and soul of the club. Anyone who tries to mess with the heart and soul of Wrexham Football Club doesn't understand the passion that they are dealing with. The club has put the town on the map across Europe.

Proud to support a local team
It's local and I'm proud to support a local team in it's historical home. If only everybody else took the same view what a team we could have!

Despite the ups and downs
Ah yes..... Wrexham. What can I say about Wrexham. Well I travel nearly 400 miles every other weekend to watch my team at the Racecourse Ground. I have seen many memorable games and just as many that I would soon rather forget. Yet despite the ups and downs we few thousand loyal followers still return season after season to see our team Wrexham AFC. Now their historic home is under threat from someone who has no interest in Wrexham the team or Wrexham the town - this person wants to take our stadium away to build a supermarket - we don't want a supermarket. The Racecourse is Wrexham and without it a big part of Wrexham will die - this cannot and must not happen. Wrexham fans, small in number but not in voice, know this and will fight to save the Racecourse until the bitter end. WTID

Scene of many triumphs
The Racecourse Ground , Wrexham. Scene of many triumphs. The FA Cup in 1991 when we defeated an Arsenal team who as reigning champions finished 91 places above us in the English league system the previous season. The scene of an historic victory over FC Porto in European cup winners cup. The scene of a 4-1 victory over England in 1980 followed by another victory against them in 1984. And who can forget the 3-0 victory over Spain in 1985. Now a property developer wants to knock it down to pocket himself a few million pounds. Well we aren't going to let him bulldoze away our memories. One player is worth 30 million pounds but a whole club and its history is worth diddly squat. What is going on with our game?

Through thick and thin
The British love of the 'underdog' is reinforced by my personal pride in being a Welshman; a little country with great passion for life and sport. Ever since being taken to The Racecourse in the late 1960s by my grandad, and paying up the princely sum of 10 pennies, I have been enthralled by the delights of supporting my team - Wrexham AFC - through thick and thin. We are a team that have always tried to play good, entertaining football, and Arsenal, Spurs and FC Porto, to name but a few, have borne witness to this phenomenon. Despite all the money that flows around the 'big boys', I can honestly say 'I am Wrexham till I die'. Unfortunately, with the financial black-cloud that currently shrouds our beloved little club, my destiny may be far closer than I had hoped.

Part of the very fabric of our town
Born, raised and lived in Wrexham for 27 years. This football club is part of the very fabric of our town, many people in Wrexham have a premiership team such as Manchester United, Liverpool or Everton as their second team. Not me, because, as the old saying goes; 'I'm Wrexham till i die'.

At the heart of our community
There is little that inspires loyalty so much as that which has always been there. Since 1873 Wrexham football club has been at the heart of our community. Rarely brilliant, rarely terrible - but always dependable, and always just good enough to think "next season...". Wrexham's fans are second to none. United not just for 90 minutes each Saturday, but day after day, week after week, as they fight to save the historic Racecourse Ground from developers. Wrexham AFC is not a matter of life or death. And its not more important than that. But to lose the club to an anonymous out-of-town shoebox stadium would be a disaster for the club, and a disaster for the town. And perhaps there is nothing that inspires 'loyalty beyond reason' so much as a threat to take away what we have never been without.
